Emmy 2016: See the winners!

At the awards for achievements in television – Emmy 2016 – we once again saw the favorite of millions Game of Thrones to triumph over all others series.

The HBO’s show breaks new record and became the most awarded TV series in history. After winning awards for Best Writing for a Drama Series and Best Directing for a Drama Series earlier in the evening, the show equalized with Fraser – a total of 37 awards. The great victory came at the very end of the ceremony with the most desired award – Best Drama Series.

“We have the best cast ever ” said the executive producer David Benioff in his speech. He also made sure to use the full name of his wife Amanda Peet when thanking her.

Fortunately, the awards this year had some surprises – especially in the acting section.

Tatiana Maslany grabbed the long-sought prize for Best Actress in a leading dramatic role for his performance in Orphan Black. Rami Malek from Mr. Robot win his first prize in the same category for men.

Kate McKinnon of Saturday Night Live and Ghostbusters also won her first Emmy Award after two nominations in 2014 and 2015.

The political satire Veep also took home two of the main major awards of the evening – Best Comedy Series and Best comedy actress in the face of Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
